I’ve worked in the optical industry for over ten years, and in that time, I’ve been lucky enough to experience a wide range of roles, from Optical Assistant to Dispensing Optician, and now Regional Lens Manager. My journey began in a busy multiple practice, where I first developed a strong foundation in patient care and the everyday workings of the profession. Later, moving into an independent practice gave me the chance to take on more responsibility and further my education, qualifying as a Dispensing Optician (FBDO, BSc Hons). That experience really shaped my understanding of what makes patient care in independent practices so unique and rewarding. My interest in technology and how it supports better outcomes for both patients and practitioners eventually led me to Rodenstock, where I joined the Tools and Services Team. I focused on IT infrastructure and equipment installation, work that built on my hands-on experience in practice and gave me a new perspective on the technical side of optics. More recently, I’ve stepped into the role of Regional Lens Manager for the Midlands. I now work closely with independent practices to support them in delivering the best possible results for their patients through Rodenstock’s B.I.G. Vision™ Philosophy. It’s a role that combines everything I’m passionate about: clinical insight, communication, innovation, and helping people see better every day. Throughout my career, I’ve stayed focused on patient care and clear, honest communication, two values that continue to guide me in everything I do.

Like many in the optical world, I didn’t plan to be here, I fell into it back in 2010 (fortunately not headfirst into a trial frame). I began my journey dispensing in practice, then moved behind the scenes to a lens supplier, before venturing into the wild and wonderful world of domiciliary optics as a Business Development Manager. That’s where I discovered my passion: building strong relationships and helping businesses grow. Now at Rodenstock, I’ve truly found my optical calling—introducing practices to the precision of Biometric Lenses and helping them see success more clearly. No looking back… unless it’s through a well-calibrated back surface freeform lens. Outside of optics, I enjoy spending time with my family/friends, music production, picking up new instruments, and occasionally pretending I’m better at sport and the gym than I really am.
