In this session you will be asked to consider your professional role in recognising and assessing ocular surface disease (OSD) within your individual competence and scope of practice. The use of ocular surface disease questionnaires will be discussed, and you will complete the TFOS DEWS III recommended questionnaire OSDI-6 will be completed. The diagnostic challenges of OSD, the benefits of standardised diagnostic testing, why there is a poor correlation between OSD symptoms and clinical signs, the importance of an accurate diagnosis including subtypes and their etiological drivers and how meticulous record keeping is important for ongoing care and monitoring of patients with OSD will all be discussed.
