Binocular vision is notoriously a challenging subject for clinicians and often the basics (which are seen frequently) are overshadowed by the complex pathologies which are rarely seen in clinic. This session will feature a whistle-stop of anatomy and theory behind basic eye position and movement (forming the basis of what is actually happening during a cover test and motility assessment), before moving on to a review of how to perform objective testing and subjective assessment (including a range of tests which can be used in practice). Importantly, what to do with the data these tests yields will be considered. The session will include both theory and opportunity to review the techniques themselves.
